DUO DIVINE

Virtuosity, emotion and style. These words perfectly describes the Duo DIVINE and their new musical project. Iris and Kateřina are professional and energetic musicians, who have a perfect command of the violin and cello. With passion and ease, they perform classical works by Vivaldi, Beethoven, as well as compositions from the contemporary and popular music world. Kateřina

Kateřina is a graduate of the Conservatory and HAMU in Prague. She completed her studies under the guidance of professors Jaroslav Ruis and Lubomír Malý.

Already as a member of the Noneta ensemble at the Prague Conservatory, she represented the Czech Republic in Paris at the International Festival of Animated Film. Her musical career was also accompanied by participation in many performance courses, for example with conductors Ondřej Kukal, Vojtěch Spurný and Jakub Hrůša. She regularly participates in masterclasses in the Czech Republic and abroad. It is worth mentioning the masterclasses led by Josef Suk and Vladimír Buka. Also the courses in Austrian Semmering with professors Wolfgang Klosse and Herbert Kefer.

With various ensembles and orchestras she has travelled through many countries. She has fond memories of Japan, Mexico and most of the European continent.

As a versatile musician, she now ranges between several musical genres. In addition to Duo Divine, she has also other projects and concerts in pop music, classical and contemporary music, and alternative theatre. As a player, she enjoys using her three musical instruments – violin, electric violin and viola in various ways.

Some of the ensembles where you can see Kateřina include the Czech Sinfonietta, Prague Chamber Soloists, Ambroš Ladies Orchestra, Orchestr Berg and Alma ensemble. She has also collaborated with the famous Czech singers Mark Ztraceny, Josef Vojtek and Václav Noid Bárta.

In addition to her profession, Kateřina loves Šumava, where she “clears her head” best, the Alps, where she enjoys adrenaline on the slopes, and in the summer she likes to ride inline skates on endless long asphalt cycle paths. Just as dynamic as her artistic expression, you’ll also notice at first glance her charisma and inner energy.

Iris

Iris is a multi-genre performer who has collaborated with major musical ensembles and individuals across the music scene. She is a graduate of the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava and the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava. She extended her education with an internship at the prestigious Haydn Conservatory in Austria.

As a soloist, she has participated in the BBC’s international project Planet Earth and Blue Planet, whose main face is the world-famous and renowned British naturalist and science popularizer David Attenborough, and whose music was composed by film composer Hans Zimmer.

As part of her musical career, Iris has performed in many countries in Europe, Asia, America and Africa. She enjoys performing one the classical, rock and pop scene. She has collaborated with personalities like Alice Cooper, Orianthi, Uriah Heep, Bonnie Tyler, Joe Lynn Turner, Midge Ure, Paul Rodgers, Kim Wilde, Eric Bazylians, Andy Scott & Pete Lincoln, Dan McCafferty, Doro, Joe Tempest, Steve Walsh, Scott Gorham & Ricky Warwick, Echoes and Primal Fear. In the Czech Republic you could see her recently alongside Štefan Margita, Michal Kindl, Marek Ztracený or in the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.

Iris loves travelling, good food, prosecco, cheerful company and funny people. She spends her free time mainly on her bike and endless walks in the mountains. Her quirky personality will impress you as much as her cello playing.
